People have a love affair with pizza. But pizza, when made with animal ingredients, does not love us back.
Pepperoni and other processed meats like sausage used in meat pizzas are World Health Organization classified Group 1 carcinogens. This means there is no doubt these ingredients cause cancer. Other items in the Group 1 carcinogen category include plutonium and cigarettes, known to cause pancreatic, prostate and other cancers.
Dairy cheese contains dangerous saturated fat which clogs arteries and sets us up for a host of ugly diseases including heart attack, stroke, type 2 diabetes, obesity, breast/ovarian/prostate cancer, acne and autoimmune disorders.
Typical white refined flour used in pizza is low in nutrients and high in inflammation, leading to arthritis and constipation. Refined flour also spikes blood glucose levels which is a problem associated with diabetes, and white flour can contribute to obesity.
We can still enjoy pizza. By leaving the animal products out of it, and using only whole grains for crust, pizza can actually be a healthy and delicious food.
