There are many compelling reasons to vegan. Eating animals is the epitome of violence, from caging, sexually violating, forcibly impregnating, exploiting, mutilating and finally slaughtering the most vulnerable beings in existence. We can end the most violent system of oppression on Earth if we stop eating animals.
Cruelty is the consistent mainstay in animal agriculture. Horrific practices are used to raise, subdue and kill animals. We can easily eat plants instead and stop contributing to massive global misery.
Eating a whole food plant-based lifestyle is the healthiest choice for us as individuals. Chronic diseases like heart disease, diabetes, obesity, arthritis, Alzheimer's, stroke and cancer which are caused by eating animals, diseases that cripple and kill millions of people every year, can be a thing of the past if we eat plants instead of animals.
Animal agriculture is destroying our planet. It is ruining the oceans, wasting immense amounts of water, destroying irreplaceable precious habitat like rainforests, and is environmentally unsustainable.
