Give Thanks Without Taking Lives
We spend much time and energy on Thanksgiving, which is set aside as a day to be thankful for our lives. But the traditional way to celebrate focuses on taking the lives of others in the process.
We can choose to truly express the spirit of gratitude for our good fortune by changing our traditions so that our enjoyment does not come at the misery of others, including the usual turkeys and other animals eaten on Thanksgiving.
Vegan holidays are especially beautiful, filled with respect for animals, honoring their rightful place here with us as we all make our way through our lives. We can be thankful to learn new, better ways to celebrate, with foods that help us to be healthier and more compassionate. Vegan food is also utterly delicious!

I live in beautiful southern California with my husband, my daughter, and rescue pup, Jake. My favorite subjects to paint are animals. They are so magical, and each species has their own uniqueness. I still love painting happy animals, however some of my views have changed because my eyes have been opened to how humans have been treating animals.
