Eating animals is proving to be one of the most ill-conceived ideas humankind has ever persisted in repeating.
Eating animals involves horrific suffering for innocent creatures who are fully capable of feeling terror, agony and physical pain. Farming them requires atrocious maliciousness and violence against them. No animal ever wants to die for human consumption or be enslaved for human exploitation. Killing them is taking the life of innocent sentient beings. Yet we do kill them, by the trillions, every year.
We harm ourselves, too, by eating animals because it causes the top diseases in humans that are killing millions of us every year. We suffer and die horrible deaths from heart disease, stroke, diabetes, cancer, autoimmune disorders, hypertension, Alzheimer's and more. Much of it is preventable and even reversible if we stop eating animals and start properly nurturing ourselves with plants.
Environmentally, animal agriculture is a blight upon the Earth. To continue to raise animals to be slaughtered for food, we are destroying irreplaceable natural resources like rainforests, which function as lungs for our planet. Are we really willing to give up our future ability to breathe so that we can have an unnecessary burger today?
Scientists and philosophers, everyday citizens and world leaders are seeing the futility in eating animals. If we as a species, if entire ranges of animal species and our planet as a whole, are going to survive, we must stop the destruction-laden practice of eating animals.
Otherwise we are literally eating ourselves and everything around us to death.
We can change this. We can eat plants. We can relieve enormous, grievous animal suffering. We can end human misery derived from diseases that need not ever befall us. We can save our beautiful planet from extinction.
We can eat plants. Not animals. It is easy, delicious, healthful, and it is the future. Start now. Go vegan. Learn how here.
